Stoker Shawn Chesire, of Camillus, N.Y., and pilot Mackenzie Woodring, of Lowell, are going for a spot at the Rio Paralympics Saturday on a tight, rolling, loop-de-loop rollercoaster of a course at the U.S. Paralympic Cycling Time Trials.CyclingIcon

Two-time Paralympic gold medalist Woodring is trying for her second Paralympics and Cheshire her first at the trials this weekend in Huntersville, N.C.

Chesire, who was left blind after an illness, and Woodring, one of Michigan’s top woman bike racers, will set out on four laps of the 4½-mile mobius strip of a course shortly after noon on Saturday.
