CyclingIconWolverine Sports Club’s Jeff Weinert, 45, of Lake Orion, was 10th in the 83-rider field in the Men’s Masters 45-49 race at the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Championships Friday in Louisville, Kentucky.

Despite temperatures in the teens and sub-zero wind chills, Weinert finished the 5-lap, 7.8-mile race up steep climbs, over hurdles and through treacherous sand pits in 51:21, at an average of speed of over 9 mph.

Men’s 45-49 world champion Donald Myrah, 47, of San Jose, finished in 47:40. Myrah adds the Rainbow jersey to the Stars-and-Stripes jersey he won at the recent U.S. Cycling Cyclo-Cross National Championships.
